Zhukovskyi Oleksandr

Oleksandr was born in Kherson in 1979. He studied to become a cook at the technical vocational college. He learned to paint on his own. As a result, he was accepted to the National Union of Artists. He has been painting pictures for over 15 years.
“You paint and it keeps you alive. And if someone enjoys my works or they make them think, it’s just great,” the artist says about his vocation.

Oleksandr always experiments, combines different techniques: oil painting, acrylic on fabric. He creates paintings on panel and fabric. In addition to regular paints, the artist uses a concentrated chlorine solution. It is risky for his health, but Oleksandr notes that the magic of a bright image on a dark canvas is worth it. He calls it a process of eliminating darkness and evil, although at the cost of his life.

“Painting today is pretty expensive, but I don’t imagine my life without it. An artist is the internal condition of your soul, you need to live it and sacrifice yourself for it.”
