Vyshnevska Iryna

Vyshnevska Iryna

Iryna was born in the Kyrgyz Republic in 1960. She successfully graduated from the Ceadir-Lunga art school (the Republic of Moldova) in 1976. She worked as a journalist, reporter and editor for print media. Iryna Vyshnevska is also an author of five fiction and publicistic books. Currently lives in Odesa.

She has returned to art at a mature age. Her paintings were exhibited for the first time at the Differently group exhibition in the Odesa Museum of Modern Art in 2015. Since that time, Iryna has been participating in group exhibitions of the Union of Artists of Ukraine, particularly its Odesa branch. She has curated all-Ukrainian, as well as local art projects.

She took painting classes from Odesa painter Inna Khasileva in 2020. There is a documentary about Iryna Vyshnevska’s art entitled Van Gogh did it and you can do it!, filmed by Julia Sushenko in 2020.

Here is what the artist says about her admiration of art: “In my new role, I’m still a journalist, so each of my paintings is a story with a sometimes complicated and twisted plot that has a sequel.”
