Oleksandra was born in 2001 in Kharkiv. She is Ukrainian and Spanish philology student at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
She works as a barber and says that cutting hair is like trimming “talking bushes.” She collects artists’ biographies. When she doesn’t work or read, she paints different objects.
Oleksandra Tertyshna has been painting all her life. The fact that she had to switch schools became crucial for her creativity. In fact, it led to reticence and soul searching. As a result, she was not presenting her works until last year, although she was devoting more time for painting.
“Painting for me is like going into a trance,” Oleksandra admits. “I can paint for eight hours straight without noticing anything around me… The stream of thoughts transforms and becomes colourful. It’s very important to not let this stream to absorb you, because you can go over the edge. I connect with what I’m painting, I live in the picture and take on its vibrations.”
