Lipatov Andrii

Andrii was born into the family of a military officer in Kolomna city, Moscow oblast, in 1960. He moved with his parents to Ukraine when he was still a student. He lived and worked in Kropyvnytskyi. After finishing the Kirovohrad Institute of Agricultural Machine Building, he was a designer-engineer at Hidrosyla plant. It was during that time that he became keen on painting which he had talent for since early childhood.

As his friends recollect, he worked a lot and persistently, that is why he had pretty many artistic achievements. Young painter Lipatov was invited to the plein air in the Czech Republic where he created about ten paintings in only several weeks. He participated in international modern art exhibitions where he met new fans of his works among art critics and experienced audience. He became a member of the National Union of Folk Artists of Ukraine in 1998.
He died in 2010.

Lipatov’s style is very close to caricature. His topics include city legends and everyday life, folklore and mythological motifs as well as notable events of the present time. The painter’s works are kept in private collections in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Argentina, Slovakia, in museums and galleries of Ukraine and the world.
